Shortly after publishing my second book, I decided to write another novel, but this time in a different country and with characters different from the previous ones. It was a great challenge to write about an unknown place and a culture different from the one I know. But the desire I felt for this work, overcame all obstacles.

I focused on the transition of young people from adolescence to youth. How they face those stages of life. The difficult decision they make when they get away from parents by pursuing their dreams in faraway places.

The main focus was on the family. Of the education that is given to children, and of how some parents try to project their future. Even some parents try to choose what they want for their children, it is as if they want them to live their dreams or rather, to achieve what they could not.

Like my later works, I tried to maintain the desire to overcome the characters, the faith and drama that young people experience at a certain stage in their lives. Without a doubt, based on a study carried out, they are destroyed after being hurt in love and how difficult it is to recover the confidence to fall in love again.

Taking all this into consideration, I formed a fiction work, but with the idea that the facts and situations were common in our daily life. I think that by the end I still remember you, I was able to achieve that goal.

Mi Historia

Para verano de 2005, mi vida no tenía planes o deseo de luchar por algo. Ya hacía un tiempo que había terminado los estudios y no pude encontrar un trabajo estable sobre lo que estudié. Vivía los días escribiendo poemas, los cuales algún día deseaba publicar en un libro. Pero tal día nunca llegó. Una noche, poco antes de que el verano concluyese, me dije que escribiría un libro sobre mi vida y que lo dedicaría a mi abuela materna Altagracia Sánchez.De ahí nació la inspiración para escribir mi primera obra Para el amor de mi vida. Me tomó cinco años en escribirla. Tuve que estudiar las vidas de mis padres, mis abuelos, mis tíos, hermanos y la historia completa de mi pueblo natal Las Guáranas.Fue algo maravilloso poder vivir los recuerdos de mi niñez, conocer mas de mi, de mi pueblo y la familia en si.No puedo negar que lloré bastante, mientras dejaba mi vida impresa en un libro, recordar esos momentos difíciles que tuvimos que atravesar para poder llegar en donde estamos.Para el amor de mi vida es un retrato de mi niñez hasta la adolescencia. De cómo valorar a los amigos y la importancia de nunca olvidar quienes somos y de donde venimos.Me enamoré por vez primera a los 9 años. Fue una linda experiencia. A veces me rio a sola, cuando recuerdo las elocuencias que hacía por esa chica. Puedo decir que la inspiración principal provino de mi madre, quien luchó constantemente para echar adelante cinco hijos, quienes crecimos sin calor paternos. Haber llegado a los Estados Unidos en el 1995, fue doloroso. Apenas tenía 14 años y llegaba a una tierra ajena y lejos de mi familia. Me sentí solo, y la soledad me dio a entender la importancia de la presencia de nuestros seres queridos. Empecé a crecer viendo como las familias inmigrantes que llegaban a este país, luchaban incondicionalmente para sustentar a sus familiares, los que habían quedados en sus países de origen. Todo aquello, lo tomé como experiencia y traté profundamente de expresarlo en la obra. De algún modo, la historia revela un poco de lo que los seres humanos atravesamos durante nuestra trayectoria de vida.

My Story

By the summer of 2005, my life had no plans or desire to fight for something. It had been a while since I had finished my studies and I could not find a stable job on what I studied. I lived the days writing poems, which one day I wanted to publish in a book. But such a day never came. One night, shortly before the summer was over, I told myself that I would write a book about my life and that I would dedicate it to my maternal grandmother, Altagracia Sánchez.From there was born the inspiration to write my first book For the love of my life. It took me five years to complete it. I had to study the lives of my parents, my grandparents, my uncles, brothers and the complete story of my hometown Las Guáranas.It was a wonderful thing to be able to live the memories of my childhood, to know more about myself, my people and the family itself.I can not deny that I cried a lot, while leaving my life printed in a book, remember those difficult moments that we had to cross to get where we are.For the love of my life is a portrait of my childhood until adolescence. How to value friends and the importance of never forget who we are and where we come from.I fell in love for the first time at 9 years old. It was a nice experience. Sometimes I laugh to myself, when I remember the eloquence I was doing for that girl. I can say that the main inspiration came from my mother, who constantly fought to raise five children, who grew up without parental heat.Having arrived in the United States in 1995, it was painful. I was barely 14 years old and arrived in a foreign land far from my family. I felt alone, and loneliness gave me to understand the importance of the presence of our loved ones. I began to grow seeing how the immigrant families that came to this country, fought unconditionally to support their families, those who had stayed in their countries of origin. All that, I took it as experience and tried deeply to express it in the work. In a way, the story reveals a bit of what human beings go through during our life trajectory.

Lucha interna.

NOCHES DE INSOMNIO

Odio las noches de insomnio, en donde aparece la frustración, y la culpa me embarga; en donde la decepción se hace presente; en donde las palabras atrapadas en mi garganta duelen amargamente; mi mente me atormenta día y noche; quisiera tener una pequeña vela, y que al soplarla todo lo malo que he hecho desaparezca, y así tener una oportunidad de redimir me.Y así tener una oportunidad de ver su sonrisa en el reflejo de la luna y poder decirle que le quiero.
